Intellectual Property:
As of March 1, 2007, the Company's portfolio of intellectual property assets included approximately 8,500 registered and pending patents. Pursuant to the intellectual property license agreement entered into with Hynix, the Company obtained from Hynix a non-exclusive license to certain intellectual property of Hynix that is mostly patent-related, and the Company granted to Hynix a non-exclusive license to certain intellectual property. Additionally, it has entered into exclusive and non-exclusive licenses and development agreements with third parties relating to the use of intellectual property of the third parties in its products and design processes, including licenses related to embedded memory technology, design tools, process simulation tools, circuit designs, and ARM’s ARM7 and ARM9 core-based System-on-Chip.
